Continuing a legacy of compassion
Kitchen of Kindness was created with a simple but powerful belief: that a warm meal, prepared with care, can restore dignity, hope, and strength to a person who needs it most.
Inspired by Rav Shayle zt"l
We are inspired by the legacy of Rabbi Yeshaya Steiner (Rav Shayle zt"l)—a legendary tzaddik known for his boundless compassion, humility, and unwavering commitment to helping every person who came to his door. Rav Shayle believed that feeding someone was not only an act of kindness, but a sacred responsibility—one that uplifts both the giver and the recipient.
That spirit guides everything we do.
What we do
Kitchen of Kindness prepares and delivers fresh, nutritious meals to individuals and families facing challenging circumstances, including:
- Hospital patients and those recovering at home
- Elderly individuals who need daily support
- Families going through illness, crisis, or transition
Our goal is not just to provide food, but to ensure that every person feels seen, respected, and cared for.
Our Mission
We strive to continue Rav Shayle's legacy by transforming compassion into action—one meal at a time. Through kindness, dignity, and consistency, we aim to strengthen our community and remind every person that they are not alone.
How we operate
Our kitchen operates out of Valley Village, serving the local community and surrounding areas.
Kitchen of Kindness operates every day of the week. Our kitchen is active daily—planning, cooking, packing, and delivering meals with consistency and reliability. This allows us to respond quickly to real needs and provide ongoing support, not just one-time assistance.

Kitchen of Kindness proudly operates under RCC kosher supervision, ensuring that every meal is prepared with care, integrity, and the highest kosher standards.
Behind every meal is a team of dedicated volunteers, partners, and supporters who believe in quiet chesed done with sincerity and heart.
